Beach GirlI’m sure you have heard about Feb Fast and giving something up for 28 days of February, which is usually alcohol, junk food or sugar after the excess of the holiday season. Well here’s Freedom February!

Freedom February is releasing yourself from something which is causing you stress or anxiety in your life. It is letting go of a niggling worry at the back of your mind, an unwanted thought or an obstacle to your personal growth.

Here’s some examples of what you can let go of in February to create more freedom in your life:

Taking Things Personally – This is something we are particularly good at as women, which does us no favours whatsoever! For the month of February calmly refrain from taking things personally and spending hours stewing over them afterwards. Remember, it was never about you anyway!

Email Enslavement – Cut the ties from being a slave to your email, checking it constantly, replying instantly and waiting anxiously for the next message in your inbox. Set your email check-in times twice daily, such as 11am and 4pm and retrain your recipients’ expectations of response times.

Family Dramas – Remove yourself from family arguments and stressful family situations for the whole month of February. Send loving, healing thoughts to whatever drama is being played out while respectfully maintaining a healthy distance away from it all, mentally, emotionally and physically.

Routine – As much as routine can be the foundation for productivity and security it can also be restrictive and constraining, creating boundaries to personal growth. This month take a break from routine, shake it up a bit, do something a little different. It may be a new route to work, a different grocery store, lunch with someone new, whatever takes your fancy!

Get that Freedom feeling in February!
